Robux Tax Calculator: How to Calculate Roblox Marketplace Fees
By Febilla Saswira · Published · Updated
When someone buys your game pass or developer product, you do not receive the full listed price. Roblox's official creator documentation says creators receive 70% of Robux spent on these in-experience purchases, while the remaining 30% is the Marketplace Fee.
Checked on 29 October 2026. This calculator is for the standard 70/30 split on game passes and developer products. Avatar Marketplace items, Limiteds, regional pricing, subscriptions, and special revenue-sharing programs can use different rules.
Quick formula
To estimate what you receive: Robux received = listed price × 0.70. Roblox rounds transactions to whole Robux, so the displayed or paid result can differ by one Robux depending on the platform's rounding.
To set a price for a target payout: listed price = target Robux ÷ 0.70, then round up to the next whole Robux. Example: a 500 Robux game pass gives an estimated 350 Robux to the creator.
Robux tax calculator
Sale price to payout: take the listed price and multiply it by 0.70. Target payout to required price: take the Robux you want to receive, divide by 0.70, and round up.
Robux after fee table
| Amount entered | Estimated received after 30% fee | Price needed to receive that amount |
|---|---|---|
| 100 Robux | 70 Robux | 143 Robux |
| 500 Robux | 350 Robux | 715 Robux |
| 1,000 Robux | 700 Robux | 1,429 Robux |
| 5,000 Robux | 3,500 Robux | 7,143 Robux |
| 10,000 Robux | 7,000 Robux | 14,286 Robux |
The last column treats the first number as a target payout and rounds the required listing price upward. Always confirm the actual creator share in Roblox's interface before relying on the estimate.
Which Roblox sales use the 30% fee?
Roblox's monetization guide says game passes are one-time purchases and developer products are repeat purchases. For both, creators receive 70% of Robux spent and Roblox keeps the remaining 30% as the Marketplace Fee. A donation game that processes a payment through a game pass or developer product follows that product's transaction rules; the word “donation” does not remove the platform fee.
Buying Robux for your account is different from selling an experience product. This calculator is not a tax on purchasing Robux. It estimates the creator payout from a sale. Players use “Robux tax” as a nickname for the platform fee; it is not a government tax.
Avatar items and Limiteds are different
Do not apply the simple 70% formula to every Marketplace transaction. Roblox documents separate commissions for avatar items, in-experience avatar purchases, resales, Limiteds, and progressive revenue sharing. For example, avatar-item creator shares can depend on whether the item was bought in the Marketplace or inside an experience and on its price relative to the current floor.
Pending Robux and when it arrives
Sale proceeds can remain pending before the Robux becomes available. Check My Transactions for the status. Hold periods can vary by transaction type; do not assume avatar-item commissions follow the same timing as game passes or developer products. Use the transaction details and Roblox support as your reference.
Robux to US dollars or rupiah
A purchase price, a creator payout, and the Developer Exchange value are three different numbers. Only eligible creators who meet the current DevEx requirements can exchange Earned Robux. Roblox's official documentation currently lists a minimum of 30,000 Earned Robux to submit a DevEx request, but eligibility requirements and exchange rates can change.
Do not convert Robux to rupiah with an unofficial fixed rate. The retail price you pay for Robux and the DevEx value creators receive are not the same thing.

Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
- What is Robux tax?
- It is the common name players use for Roblox's Marketplace Fee. For game passes and developer products, official documentation says creators receive 70% and Roblox keeps 30%.
- How much do I receive from a 500 Robux sale?
- Using the standard 70% creator share, the estimate is 350 Robux. Confirm the transaction type because other Marketplace products can use different splits.
- What price should I set to receive 500 Robux?
- Divide 500 by 0.70 and round up, giving 715 Robux as the estimated required price.
- Does the fee apply to game passes and donations?
- It applies to game passes and developer products. If a donation is implemented through one of those products, that transaction follows its normal fee rules.
- How much is one US dollar in Robux?
- There is no single universal conversion for every context. Retail purchase prices and the DevEx payout for eligible creators are different.
- When does pending Robux arrive?
